How many hours does it take Maggie to complete a paper tole artwork?
She shook her head and shrugged. She doesn’t know. She had never counted the hours.
Does any artist count the hours they spend on their labours of love?
In most cases, probably not, unless they have good (financial?) reason to time their projects.
That’s what we’re going to do with Maggie’s next project — from start to finish. We’ll count the hours while documenting its progress, and we’ll glean some tips from the artist along the way.
Watch for the start of that project soon.
I wonder if at any time during a project other artists get the same feeling of abandoning it, and putting it aside for the next moment of renewed motivation as I do. In this regard I never calculate the hours/time I spend on anything, except at the end of it where I get to the realization that I spent months, sometimes years, on the same project! Lol (or maybe not Lol.)
I’ve observed friends and relations doing Paper Toll over the years in awe, always fascinated how detailed and evocative the results can be.
I’ve always considered it more art than craft.
While it may be a bit of a stretch, was Michelangelo an artist or a craftsman .
I look forward to seeing more of Maggies work
