Checking in with you
We've had a busy April with other things, but Maggie has still found time for her paper tole art
Yikes! It has been more than a month since we posted anything here.
Maggie and I have been super busy with our various projects. But she has continued to work on her paper tole projects, and is now creating one — another painting by Dutch artist Anton Peck called The Cyclist (see above) — that is among the more detailed pieces she has done.
“I want to keep this one for myself,” she says.
Last time we checked in here, she was working on Anton Peck’s The Painter. It’s completed now, and Maggie has several other completed works that still need to be framed.
So, what will she do with all these beautiful pieces after we run out of wall space here?
They will make nice gifts at Christmastime and other occasions, but Maggie is concerned that when giving them away people may not understand the amount of work that went into them and may not give them the prominence they deserve.
She may sell some, too, but there aren’t many outlets for that kind of thing. I suppose many artists in different fields who create for the pure joy of it have the same problem.
Meanwhile, we are thinking of moving this forum to another location. We’ll keep you posted on that.
Cheers
